“Why did you do that?” He shrugged.

“Why should anyone feel like they can judge you?”

“But it’s not yours. You made them think the baby’s yours.” He glanced away, his expression hiding something.

“Anthony.”

He took her hands, holding her fingers tight as he whispered, “Too late.”
